Cell Therapies Pty Ltd (CTPL) is a commercial CDMO located within the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne.

With more than 23 years’ experience, CTPL specialises in the development, technology transfer, GMP manufacture and delivery of advanced cell therapies. Our work spans autologous, allogeneic, genetically modified and non-genetically modified cellular therapy products, supporting programs from clinical development through to commercial manufacture.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Cell Therapy Specialist to join our Project Delivery team.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role will provide technical expertise, project leadership and client-facing support across a diverse portfolio of cell therapy programs. The role will support projects from process development and technology transfer through to GMP clinical and commercial manufacture.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams, clients, clinicians, CROs, vendors and external manufacturing partners. They will also represent CTPL in technical meetings, present project updates and recommendations, and help communicate complex scientific, manufacturing and quality information clearly.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing cell therapy projects from development through to GMP manufacture
  • Supporting technology transfer into CTPL facilities
  • Assessing manufacturing processes, analytical strategies and product characterisation requirements
  • Supporting process development, optimisation, qualification and validation activities
  • Providing technical leadership across cell culture, cell manipulation, cell modification, analytics and downstream processing
  • Driving project planning, milestone tracking, risk management and delivery
  • Working across Production, Quality, QC, Supply Chain, Facilities, Project Delivery and external partners
  • Acting as a key technical interface for clients and collaborators

To be successful in this role

CTPL is seeking candidates with strong project leadership capability, excellent communication skills and deep technical experience in cell therapy manufacturing and GMP operations.

Preferred candidates will have experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Autologous or allogeneic cell therapy manufacturing
  • Cellular immunotherapies, including T-cell, NK cell, iNKT cell or stem cell-derived products
  • Human cell culture, manipulation, activation, expansion, harvest and formulation
  • Cell therapy process development, optimisation, qualification or validation
  • Cell therapy product characterisation and analytical evaluation

Candidates should also be able to demonstrate:

  • Relevant qualifications, or equivalent experience, in science, medicine, biotechnology or engineering
  • Experience in GMP, clinical trial or regulated manufacturing environments
  • Strong technical judgement and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lead projects, manage competing priorities and deliver through others
  • Strong communication skills with clients, technical experts and senior stakeholders

Experience in regulatory affairs, quality management, clinical trials, DoE, project management or commercial project delivery will be highly regarded.
