Cell Therapies Pty Ltd and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, in collaboration with RMIT University, the Royal Children’s Hospital, and Cyclotek (Aust) Pty Ltd, is pleased to present the  “First in Human” CAR T cell tracking study in the poster session at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) 2020 Virtual Scientific Program to be held May 29 – 31, 2020.

This is a first in human study examining the in-vivo biodistribution of ex-vivo labelled CAR T cells assessed in a cohort of patients. The presented data provides the proof of principle that we can track the biodistribution of adopted CAR-T cell therapy in real time with clinical grade dual PET-MR in patients. This novel and dynamic cell tracking platform allows us to determine how many labelled CAR-T cells distribute to various organs such as liver, spleen, lung and bone marrow, as well as solid tumors. The study validates the clinical translation of this dynamic and novel cell tracking platform.

“Clinical trials depend on the willingness of participants, some of whom are critically ill,” commented Associate Professor Simon Harrison, Director of the Centre of Excellence in Cellular Immunotherapy at Peter Mac. “It is only with the help of a team of dedicated staff and patients that we can perform essential research. They all deserve a thank you.”

Peter Mac is a world-class hospital and research organisation dedicated to treating and caring for people with cancer. Cell Therapies is globally active commercial contract development and manufacturing company with world-class facilities have been developing and manufacturing cutting edge treatments for cancer and rare diseases on behalf of local and international clients for more than 17 years.

The data will also be presented in the upcoming ISCT 2020 and AACR 2020 conferences.
